John Alton Yeomans � 71
Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 in Langdale Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born on June 22, 1939 in Broxton, GA to the late Lela Mae & J.D. Yeomans. Mr. Yeomans owned and operated the Yeomans Drywall Company for more than 40 years. Despite being bashful as a young man, he enjoyed talking to friends and seldom met a stranger. He took pleasure in teaching his children and grandchildren new things from reading the newspaper articles to the girls when they were young to teaching them and many others how to fish, hunt, and water ski. He attended Bethany Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Alex Jay Hayes.
He is survived by his, Wife, Nell Yeomans, Valdosta, GA; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Teresa Giles, Hahira, GA, Brenda & Jerry Mixon, Willacoochee, GA, Jeannie & Rick Hayes, Hahira, GA; Grandchildren, Patrick & Amanda Giles, Erica Giles, Kimberly & Dustin Sirmans, Wendy Mixon, Hayley Hayes; Great Grandchildren, Dylan, Dusty, Jasleigh, Reid, Kyla, Lacey; Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Mildred Yeomans, Valdosta, GA, Patricia & James �Buddy� Astles, Hahira, GA, Mary Elizabeth & Ermon �Tom� Bentley Saint Augustine, FL; A number of Nieces and Nephews
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or a donation can be made to the Langdale Hospice House, 2251 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.
