Bill Zahniser – 69
Of Valdosta passed away Thursday July 22, 2010 in South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on August 23, 1940 in Waynesburg, PA to Nedra and the late William Zahniser. He was a member of Park Avenue Methodist Church and South Georgia Corvette Club. After graduating from West Virginia University in 1964, he had a long successful career with State Farm Insurance Company. His lifelong passions were sports car racing and general aviation. For many years he built and drove race cars in two premiere racing series; the Sports Car Club of America and the Historic Sportscar Racing. Additionally, he owned his own Piper aircraft and flew regularly throughout the southeastern United States, as well as the Caribbean.
His genuine passion was his beloved, Wife, Karen Zahniser, Valdosta, GA; Son, Chad William Zahniser, Macon, GA; Granddaughter, Kallie Gabrielle Zahniser, Byron, GA; Mother, Nedra Zahniser, Largo, FL; Sister & Brother-in-law, Carolyn & Jerry Hornor, Largo, FL; Sisters-in-law & Brothers-in-law, Gloria & Tony Vitti, Atlanta, GA, Debbie & Roger Wade, Lincolnton, GA; Several Nephews and Niece
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday July 31, 2010 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Rev. Andy Daughtry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the funeral home.
