Christine Walker – 79
Of Lakeland passed away Friday evening January 8, 2010 in the Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland, GA after a lengthy illness. She was born August 18, 1930 to the late Glover W. and Etha Alice Joyce Walker, and had lived in Lanier County, GA all of her life. She was a social worker with the Georgia Department of Family and Children’s Services in Lanier County for 25 years. After retirement she served as migrant education teacher for the Lanier County School System. Her hobbies included gardening and dancing. She was a former member of Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of the Unity Methodist Church in Lanier County, GA. She was a dedicated public servant, a devout Christian and loving mother.

Daughters - Barbara Ann Rolls –Waycross, GA
Denese Whitney – Decatur, GA
Sons - Darrell and Pat Walker – Tifton, GA
Derwin Walker and Tammy Conine– Lakeland, GA
Sister - Jeryldean and Vince Bonifera – Smyrna, DE
Brother - Horace Walker – Atlanta, GA
4 Grandchildren, Danny, Renee, Deledia, Tess 5 Great Grandchildren, Haley, Dana, Kaitlyn, Reed, Colt.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M Tuesday January 12, 2009 in the Unity United Methodist Church with Rev Tony Crosby officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home between 6:00 and 8:00 P.M. Monday January 11, 2010 Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com.
